Pinealon (EDR Tripeptide: Glu-Asp-Arg)
Khavinson family bioregulator developed at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Synthetic tripeptide marketed as a brain / cognitive bioregulator with claimed neuroprotective and nootropic effects. Most efficacy data is from Khavinson's own lab and a handful of Russian collaborators; independent Western replication is essentially absent. Commercially sold as oral capsules (Khavinson Peptides), sublingual sprays, and reconstituted SubQ from research-peptide vendors.

Mechanism
Per the Khavinson 'short-peptide bioregulator' hypothesis, EDR is proposed to enter neuronal nuclei and bind specific gene-promoter regions, modulating expression of neurotrophic and cell-survival genes. Reported effects in animal models include reduced neuronal apoptosis under hypoxia/oxidative stress, improved spatial memory in aged rats, and attenuated amyloid-β toxicity. Mechanism is contested in mainstream pharmacology because tripeptides are normally degraded in serum within minutes; Khavinson's group argues local cellular uptake precedes degradation.
Dosing
No standardized human dosing has been established. Every catalogued study for Pinealon is preclinical or a literature review. Amounts used in animal models do not translate directly to humans.
