Khavinson family bioregulator developed at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Synthetic tetrapeptide marketed for prostate health and chronic prostatitis adjunct. Most efficacy data is from one Russian lab; independent Western replication is essentially absent. NOT approved for prostatitis or BPH treatment in any jurisdiction.

Mechanism

Per the Khavinson 'short-peptide bioregulator' hypothesis, KEDP is proposed to bind condensed chromatin in aged or dysfunctional prostate cells, triggering decondensation of heterochromatin and re-opening silenced gene regions in nucleolar organizer regions. Mechanism is contested in mainstream pharmacology because tetrapeptides are normally degraded in serum within minutes. Reported preclinical effects: anti-inflammatory effect in chronic prostatitis animal models, suppression of lymphocytic infiltration, reduction of vascular congestion / fibrosis / stromal edema, restoration of acinar epithelial structure.

Dosing

No standardized human dosing has been established. Every catalogued study for Prostamax is preclinical or a literature review. Amounts used in animal models do not translate directly to humans.
