Renelon
Renelon / Pielotax (Tyr-Glu-Asp-Trp / YEDW Tetrapeptide; renal bioregulator)
Khavinson family bioregulator developed at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Synthetic tetrapeptide marketed for kidney function support; frequently bundled with or confused for the polypeptide complex Pielotax (renal cytomax). Most efficacy data is from one Russian lab; independent Western replication is essentially absent. Sequence YEDW is plausible but not as cleanly confirmed across vendor sources as KE/KED/AEDR.

Mechanism
Per the Khavinson 'short-peptide bioregulator' hypothesis, YEDW is proposed to bind DNA in renal nephron cells, upregulating differentiation and protein synthesis genes. Mechanism is contested in mainstream pharmacology because tetrapeptides are normally degraded in serum within minutes. Reported effects (limited literature): anti-inflammatory effect in cisplatin-induced acute renal failure model, reduction of protein excretion and electrolyte loss, normalization of diuresis and creatinine excretion, tissue regeneration markers in renal tubular cells.
Dosing
No standardized human dosing has been established. Every catalogued study for Renelon is preclinical or a literature review. Amounts used in animal models do not translate directly to humans.

Reconstitution and storage
20 mg vial; 2-5 mL BAC water. At 4 mg/mL, 100 mcg = 0.025 mL.
Lyophilized: room temp short-term, refrigerate for >30 days. Reconstituted: refrigerate, use within 30 days.
