Vesugen (Lys-Glu-Asp / KED Tripeptide; vascular bioregulator)
Khavinson family bioregulator developed at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Synthetic tripeptide developed for vascular endothelial regulation; marketed for atherosclerosis prevention and cardiovascular longevity. Most efficacy data is from one Russian lab; independent Western replication is essentially absent. KED sequence is consistent across vendor sources.

Mechanism
Per the Khavinson 'short-peptide bioregulator' hypothesis, KED is proposed to bind the CATC sequence within the MKI67 (Ki-67) gene promoter region in endothelial cells, upregulating proliferation marker Ki-67 expression. Mechanism is contested in mainstream pharmacology because tripeptides are normally degraded in serum within minutes. Reported preclinical effects: stimulation of endothelial cell proliferation (Ki-67 upregulation), reduction of polyploid endothelial cell accumulation in aged vessels, normalization of endothelin-1 expression, SIRT1 pathway modulation, oxidative stress response modulation, vascular contribution to neuroprotection in Alzheimer's mouse model.
Dosing
No standardized human dosing has been established. Every catalogued study for Vesugen is preclinical or a literature review. Amounts used in animal models do not translate directly to humans.
